On January 1, 2008, I made a New Year's resolution to cut out refined sugar for one year. I cut out white refined sugar and corn syrups. My quest to be sugar-free evolved into political interest, public health, and letter writing to food manufacturers. Haikus and Strawberry Snacks





Strawberries and nuts
Coconut and chocolate
A sweet snack for me









Rain and chilly days
Hot ginger tea with honey
Soothes my sweet tooth needs




Strawberry Snack
(Great for kids!)

Slice lots of strawberries
Lay flat and take turns decorating with one of the following nuts:
Cashews
Sliced almonds
Macadamia nuts
Pistachios
Peanuts

Then add one or more of the following:
Coconut flakes
Raisins
Grain-sweetened chocolate chips
Blueberries
Sliced bananas
Sliced pineapple

Get creative and snack responsibly!
